Our society was started by like-minded individuals who wanted a space to share knowledge and connect with others in the industry. Our membership offers fantastic opportunities such as; field trips inaccessible to the general public, lectures by award-winning scientists and researchers who are constantly on the news, a newsletter to keep you up-to date, regular meetings where you can have your say and opportunities to display our society in schools and fairs across the country. Our collective library of owned specimens and books from members who are willing to share, collaborate and inspire makes our society one-of-a-kind in a world becoming increasingly more online.

Field Trip Testimonials

I wanted to say thank you again for letting me come on your trip to Daglingworth. It was really enjoyable to attend and meet such a nice group of people. Also, I found a really nice echinoid which hopefully will prep well with a suitable air abrasive.”

Thank you for organising a wonderful day. There was so much to enjoy in the big quarry and also the choice of pub was excellent plus the excursion in the afternoon made a good ending. It couldn't have been better!

Many thanks for organising a super field trip. It was a great fun with plenty to see and do. I really appreciated people sharing their expertise and knowledge.

Thank you for a warm and friendly welcome to the society, which is greatly welcomed. I am hoping to attend both events at Daglingworth Quarry on 11 October and Naunton Quarry on 18 October where it would be great to meet members face-to-face.”

… many thanks again for organising the field trip today and allowing members of the Bath Geological Society to participate. Collecting the clypeus plotti was definitely the highlight!
